You can qualify for the grant if you are refurbishing the vacant property so you can live there, or so you can rent the property out. The grant was originally for people who were refurbishing vacant properties to live in them, but on 1 May 2023, it was extended to people who want to refurbish vacant properties to rent them out.

You can get a grant of up to 50,000 to renovate a vacant property and up to 70,000, if the property is derelict.

The cottage is less than 2 km from Ballinahown School & Ballinahown Sports Park. It is in need of extensive renovation and has huge potential as a rural retreat or Holiday Home. Good broadband available in the area so would suit someone who can work from home.
